WHY
RE-ELECT?
I stepped up 4 years ago because I wanted to make a difference in the community. I wanted to contribute. I was ready to do that work.
In placing your trust in me, with your vote to return me to the council table you are choosing a responsible decision maker that comes prepared and that does over and above what's required of the role.

No single member of council can take credit for achievements or decisions made. Decisions are made by majority and executed by staff. My decisions, votes and actions are researched, prepared and with an awareness of residents feedback and concerns.
From answering the phone at 10:00pm or on a Sunday, to driving to the exact location of your issue to see it with my own eyes. From leaving work in the middle of the day for a 4-hour meeting to spending 2 hours with a resident going over municipal documents on a Saturday. From being out at community events and promoting them to stopping in the grocery store isle to hear your concern. I'm ready to continue that work for Marmora and Lake.

WHO
AM I?
I’m a passionate and involved community member with a vision for Marmora and Lake which is why I have dedicated the past four years to serving the community as a Councillor. I'm driven to continue contributing and am seeking your trust and support in re-election.
As your member of Council, I hope to continue to build on the strengths and opportunities for Marmora and Lake, as we move into the future, together. I'm committed to doing my part - by always showing up, doing the hard work, being prepared and being reachable for you.
The past four years have been an incredible learning experience for me and I have have truly loved being in the role. The work is hard, but rewarding making the choice to run again easy. I want to continue contributing to this community and represent you.
I joined the community eight years ago. I made it my home, and moved my successful business of 22+ years to Marmora’s industrial park. Together with my partner Amanda and two children, we live in the village of Marmora full-time, and enjoy a seasonal property on the Crowe Lake. Our kids attended Marmora Public School and then Central Hasting High School. After the passing of my father, my mother also relocated to the community and now calls Marmora home. I can often be found exploring Marmora’s many trails and waterways, sailing on Crowe Lake or playing Pickleball in our local arena or school gym.

LOCAL ISSUES
THAT MATTER
I care about this community and I have been closely following and staying informed with your issues. These are just some of the issues that your next council may have to make important decisions on. Feel free to reach out to me to discuss any of these topics and/or any issues that matter to you.
Water and Sewer Rates - lack of proactive planning to fund and maintain the water system has led to increases in rates. What tools and opportunities are available to help?
Tourism Centre and Legion Park Beach house - How can these buildings best be used as an asset in the community?
Property standards and bylaw enforcement - Do we need a more heavy handed approach? What impression do offending properties create of our community?
Booster Park - How can this municipal site best serve the entire community and do revenue opportunities exists to offset costs?
Value for our uncontrollable costs- How do we ensure we are getting the maximum level of service from providers (OPP, County, Conservation) that we do not have control over annual costs that influence the tax levy?
Budget Format - Is the current document the best format to present the budget in? Is it easy to understand? Is there transparency of funds? How can this document be improved so residents see true costs of operations and expenses?
Alto - a potential high speed rail route threatens residents private land, municipal roadways and sensitive environmental areas. Your next council must be strong advocates in your interests.
Summer Job Funding - The municipality has the opportunity to take advantage of Federal funding to hire summer positions creating local employment, cutting wage cost, and potential to improve service and facility access. Why are we not?
Road repair- at a minimum replacement cost of approximately $100,000 per km how do we keep up with aging roads and make data based decisions on repair priorities?
Housing -
A slower housing market has decreased new builds. Remaining serviced residential lots are in limited supply. Our community needs housing (of all types), an increased property tax base and the economic activity of new builds and an increased population.
Bridge Infrastructure - Long-term planning is required as critical local bridges age. What steps can we take to maximize life? How do we fund replacement and repair?
Request for Service - Filling out a form with an issue on a municipal website deserves a response. Not every problem can be solved, some take time - but what logging and tracking is behind these requests to make sure they are on a list? How can this system be improved?
A RETURN TO STRATEGIC PRIORITIES
In 2020 the Municipality of Marmora and Lake identified its strategic priorities based on stakeholder (community member) surveys and defined its objectives to encourage improvement in the areas that people (you!) wanted most. These were the objectives that council was called upon to analyze and make important execution, resource allocation (your tax dollars) and budget decisions on over the past 6 years. However, that plan now requires updating based on feedback and an understanding from the public of what matters to them going forward to 2030. It's important to me that staff, council, and the public are all pointing in the same future direction. A strategic plan document solidifies that direction and acts a a roadmap for decisions.
